Me? No. Why would I want to get you or anyone in the west.
Western problem is intrinsic to western culture. Individualism based
emocracy began with ancient Greeks. But the Greeks could not control
the associated freedom and increased competition as the results of
freedom. Too much competition torn the social fabric apart. Anceint
Greek civilization declined. But democracy reborn with Christian
ethics as a balance. The new system worked wonders The successful
combination between Christian ethics and individualism based democracy
is for all to see. However, the long term trend human trend is toward
secularization. Without Christian ethics as its cultural anchor,
western culture is again drifting. Many lead a life of hedonism and
nihilism. The opposite response is the Christian right who want their
god to play more prominent role in all aspects of their lives. For
many both ends are indicative of a dark future. In short, amany had
lost their vision. Taking up remote causes like Tibet is indicative of
this hopelessness. Thnik about it, if one can realistically hope to
solve the problems of his or her own community, he or she would not
have time to worry about Tibet.
Concerning population decline, it is not that westerners cannot make
procreative love and shout "Free Tibet" at the same time. Rather, I
was told by some parents that it would be irresponsible to bring kids
to this world of hopelessness. No vision, no will to procreate.
