Myanmar has asked ASEAN for urgent aid...Victims in Myanmar urgently
need food, water and
shelters.
Countries in Asia responded immediately. Singa****e gave a quarter of
a million, Indonesia gave US$ one million, China gave US$ one million,
Japan gave $370,000. India immediately despatch two naval ****ps loaded
with food items, tents, blankets, medicine and meals..Even poor
Bangladesh sent medicine and cloths.
However, the USA and European countries play politics, and refuse to
send aid unless Myanmar agree to their terms. They together with the
UN, demanded visa for a "relief *****sment team" to enter Myanmar. It
will only give "aid" with strings attached. Bush's wife use this
op****tunity to condemn the junta in Myanmar.
Australia, the good friend of the USA, got annoyed and yesterday urged
the "international community" to focus on providing aid to the cyclone
victims instead of playing politics.
Australia in this instance has acted as an Asian country. Good.
