The Olympic Games aren't the only spectacle making a splash in
Beijing this year.
This giant beast of an LED screen, dubbed the Zero Energy Media Wall,
is unveiling this month in Beijing. Located at the Xicui entertainment
complex, near the site of the 2008 games, the screen won't show
adverts or commercials, but a rotating display of media by artists
around the globe.
The best part about the luminscent screen is that it's entirely
self-sustained. The wall harvests energy using photovoltaic cells
during the day, which fuels the 2,300 LEDs that make up its pixelated
display by night.
