Fears over future of town hall unfounded, - ELDC boss

KIND hearted knitters have been busy making more than 1,000 woolly
hats for babies in Tibet and Africa.
Horncastle Hobby House, in North Street, joined Save the Children=92s
Knit Kit back in March.
It is a campaign to make woolly hats for babies at risk from
hypothermia in countries like Tibet.
Owners Jo Scarbro and Dinah Ward said they were amazedADVERTISEMENT by
the response from people who have been happily knitting for the good
cause.
Some knitters have not just been knitting one or two hats - they have
been knitting dozens and more still.
Beryl Firth managed to knit 130 little hats and Barrie Gosling made
45.
=93The response has been absolutely fantastic, way beyond what we
expected, so we are going to extend it through to the end of May,=94
said Jo.
Courier giant, TNT, Jo=92s former employer, has agreed to trans****t this
first batch of hats to London for free, to help the campaign.
A lot of people who have been returning the hats have also refused to
receive their 50p discount back from the =A31.50 cost of the wool.
=93Virtually everybody has put their 50p towards the campaign. This will
be put towards the cost of sending the second batch, if it is not free
again. Otherwise we will send a cheque to the charity directly.=94
