I'll not try to defend Con****ius political ideology
nor his philosophy....totally not suitable for
our world.

However, his social teaching on social contract
is deeply etched in the Chinese psyche.,it is
reflected in every aspect of the life of a Chinese...
from the way we eat, the way we marry, the way
we relate to family members and others, the way
we raise our kids,..... to the way we are buried.

Most overseas Chinese are not aware of the deep
influence Con****ius had in our behaviour.

Take the use of chopstick for our meals. Although
chopsticks were in use in part of China for thousands
of years, it was Con****ius who formalised the manner
of using chopsticks in one of his five classic cannons..
"Lijing" ("Classic of Rites"). Ever since Chinese have
been using the chopsticks for meals according to this
"lijing".
If you have time, read this classic and you'll be surprised
how our way of life is influenced by him.
In this sense, his teaching was great.

I will be quick to point out Con****ius teaching is not
without flaws...In fact, it had a very serious flaw.
Chinese knowledge of the world and scientific progress
had stagnated for over 2500 years.
The person responsible for this stagnation,...Con****ius.
He discouraged individuals to think for themselves...to
discover better ways of doing things.
He taught his students...the ways of the elders, tried
and tested were the best in the world. This unnatural
respects for the knowledge of the elders, teachers stopped
new discoveries...for over 2000 years.
