China: Mandate of heaven?

天道有常，不為堯存，不為桀亡 .... (荀子/天論篇)

It was Mencius during the classical period of ancient China,
who advanced that salient political concept of the Con****ian
school, mandate of heaven. as the moral force for retraining
the imperial power of the Middle Kingdom's monarchs.

Calamities were deemed expressions of divine displeasure.

And, it was the duty of the imperial astrologer to interpret
and reveal the divine narrative. The ruler must find ways to
placate the divine fury by redressing injustices perpetrated
against the people. He was answerable to a higher power, and
must rule in accordance with Dao: 應之以治則吉，應之以亂則凶

CCP must take heed ....
