Chinese Minister of Information, Industry, Wang Xudong, told a group
of visiting Sudanese journalists here today that there is no truth to
re****ts that China censors and denies Internet access to its
citizens.


"I do not know what is this "googles" or "yaboos" or "ciskoz," Wang
said.  These stories are false, I can attest.


"Our people have absolute free access to the Internet," he insisted,
"as long as they do not post slanderous accounts of Communist
atrocities or governmental coverups of earthquake details.  Which we
do not do, anyway.  We are a free democratic republic, like the
United
States.  Gone are the days when abusers of Internet privileges were
imprisoned and tortured to death.  I know, because I personally
attended to the last enemy of the people for his outrageous posting
that Chinese parents in China routinely drown or strangle about 7
million girl babies a year.  Outrageous!  The actual number is closer
to 5 million."


Wang fielded questions from the journalists, although the session was
cut short when he was asked the whereabouts of the "comfort girls"
the
journalists said they were promised as part of the visit.
