Ma gave a speech yesterday and he mentioned "Taiwan
spirit"$B!VBf_T@[EMAIL PROTECTED]
(B and
the necessity to develop this Taiwan spirit multiple times. Taiwan
spirit is part of Taiwan-ness. But it is different from the Taiwan
Independence sup****ters' sense of Taiwan-ness$B!VBf_T0U<1!W(B.
According the Taiwan University's ****f Huang, (URL above), Taiwan
spirit is more fundamental and more inclusive than the TIers' sense of
Taiwan-ness. It communicates what make Taiwan Taiwan. And what make
Taiwanese Taiwanese. In contrast, the latter is no more than using
Taiwan-ness to divide between in group and out group politically and
externally. By using "Taiwan spirit", Ma had created a lot of space
for futher discussion and interactions.
