1. Suppose "Chinese" means a member of the group that speaks Chinese. No,

2. Suppose "Chinese" means a citizen of China. I have the possibility of 
doing that, but, I probably won't. Were I to do so, I would not only
"pass" 
(i.e., fool people) but I would be Chinese.

3. Suppose "Chinese" means someone imbued with the culture. Not only do I 
already "pass" among my friends in Taiwan, it is often said that I am more

Chinese than most Taiwanese.

4. Suppose "Chinese" means dark hair, brown eyes, and so on. I know lots
of 
Native Americans who could pass for a Chinese, but I will never be able
to.
