THE Mexican navy has reached Havana=92s shores and, by lowering its
training ****p anchor, reaffirmed the friend****p bewteen the two
countries. The message of brotherhood traveled this time aboard the
Cuauht=E9moc, where the spirit of future navy officers is developed and
which is making its third trip to Cuba.
The Cuauht=E9moc enters Havana Bay
Its 266 crew members, under the command of Captain Mario Carbajal
Ram=EDrez,
were welcomed in an official ceremony at the Cruise****p Terminal
within the ****t of Havana, by Rear Admiral Luis Gonz=E1lez Navarro,
chief deputy of the Revolutionary War Navy, who emphasized the
op****tunity provided by the visit to strengthen the warm relations
between the countries. Also in attendance was Gabriel Jim=E9nez Remus,
Mexican ambassador in Cuba.
The ****p=92s voyage will continue through next November 23 across a
variety of the world=92s regions, as recounted by Capatin Ramirez. The
****p=92s commander described the visit as very pleasant and invited
Cubans to visit the Cuauht=E9moc, which will be open April 27-28 until
6:00 p.m.
A group of Mexican sailors had a cordial visit with Admiral Pedro
P=E9rez Betancourt, head of the Revolutionary War Navy at the
Revolutionary Armed Forces Ministry=92s Foreign Relations Department.
P=E9rez Betancourt expresed Cuba=92s love for Mexico to the visitors.
