Origin of the word "Scots" Leid "Llaisioch ***braic"

by "Hawker" <hawker@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Jun 7, 2006 at 10:50 AM

Leid
from Irish/Scots Gaelic "laoidh " meaning a verse, hymn, or poem
cf. Welsh "llais" pl. "lleisiau" meaning a voice, sound, "digrif gan bob
aderyn ei lais" (every bird has its own voice/song)
Cf. English lay meaning a song, said to originate from an obsolete Breton
word *lai
Cf. Old German leoth (voiced TH), German lied
Gothic liuthon, to sing

So I now have the ***bric word for speak, which is *llaisio, pronounced
lesio/lasio

"LLAISIOCH ***BRAIC"

I am learning HTML, so I hope to get a ***braic Website going later on.
Evereything concerning my ***bric dictionary and grammar are copyright
free
if you want to publish/copy it in part or all.
