My mother born in Jo-burg South Africa, [Boxburg] when my grandfather was
a
mine boss there.

Es you! You do my heart good, brother. My mother's first job was 'in
service' on some estate, then came the war and her sisters worked in a
local
bomb factory.

My father after 6 years in WWII eventually worked in Camborne, at Holmans,

after a similar job in Poole. He often hinted I could have been a a
'Stroin.
But never elaborated on his efforts on Bondai beach :))

It was probably 'talk', you know, but he liked it down there. Poor sod
retired early after a life in the factory, died 2 years later from
post-operative condition. Never really related all that stuff.

His funeral was on a bleak day. ****ing hell!

Anyway. Good of you to respond, and you can always check out
www.cornwall.cam which is the best site on the whole internet, to get half
a
dozen veiws every day. I now live in the States, and people seeing the
site
ask, 'why do you live here?' Its a fair question.

Cordially, Phil Innes
