There's no dispute about who Dickens was. He was a well known Saggar
Maker's 
Bottom Knocker from Hanley who collaborated with Herbie Wells at the 
Creative Writers' Guild in Tunstall. Rumours of his death were
exaggerated. 
I guess he just couldn't stand the attention of the paparazzi, so he faked

it. He was still working on pot bank in Etruria around the same time HG 
Wells was disposing of that bastard Raut down the road at Shelton Iron & 
Steel Works. No link was ever proven.
