PCJ executive axed as Cuban Light Bulb saga continues

A top level executive at the Petroleum Cor****ation of Jamaica (PCJ) has
been fired as the fallout from the Cuban Light Bulb Distribution
Programme continues.
PCJ's Board met on Wednesday to examine the re****ts of the Auditor
General and the Contractor General on the matter and subsequently
decided to terminate the services the Director of Administration, Rodney
Salmon.
Mr. Salmon is also the Cor****ate Secretary and was re****tedly a
long-serving employee of the Cor****ation.
In a statement, the Board said officers of the PCJ should also be held
accountable for what it termed "gross negligence" in not following
established guidelines.
The Board also cited numerous breaches of the Petroleum Cor****ation Act,
the Public Bodies Management and Accountability Act and the Financial
Administration and Audit Act.
The state-run PCJ has been dragged into the spotlight as it has been
linked to the Light Bulb Distribution Project.
Previously, the Cor****ation distanced itself from Colleen Wright, the
former secretary to Kern Spencer, both of whom are facing fraud charges
in connection with the light bulb saga.
A statement was issued on behalf of Group Managing Director, Dr. Ruth
Potopsingh, denying re****ts that Miss Wright was a supervisor at the PCJ.
The three accused in the light bulb saga, former Junior Energy Minister,
Kern Spencer, co-accused Colleen Wright and Rodney Chin are to appear
before the courts next week to face fraud and money laundering charges
in the light bulb scandal.
The three were charged last month following investigations by the
Organised Crime Unit.
The three are accused of defrauding the government.
