My local paper, The Miami Herald, has a note about blogger Yoani
Sanchez not having received an "exit permit" to travel to Spain to
receive an undescribed award.
Will appreciate those of you who tend to extol the virtues of the
Cuban regime explain a couple of related points.
1. Why do Cubans need government permission to travel abroad? Are
they all on some type of probation for the commission of something
like an "original crime" (allusion to the concept of "original sin"
intended)?
2. What is the government's rationale for limiting travel? For
example, is the regime concerned that given the choice and the
opp****tunity to abroad, an overwhelming majority of Cubans would flee?
Thanks for the anticipated responses.
