Hah, ha, very bloody funny!
I am off to Prague again. Late April, early May, should be nice. So,
with that in mind, I've been watching flights for a while, just to see
what there is. British Airways and Virgin Atlantic have this Premium
Class non-stop from LAX to London Heathrow. It costs a bit more, but you
get more room and better chow. So I am just about to book this and I
make one last search through Orbitz when this unbelievable fare pops up.
$477 round trip LAX to LHR taxes and fees INCLUDED. There must be
something wrong, the flight takes twice as long, or something, but I
check it out anyway.
It's LAX to Calgary, two hour stopover and then non-stop to London. Air
Canada all the way. Same on the way back.
Now I have a friend who lives in Red Deer, Alberta and who might want to
come along and join me in Calgary. I email the flight to him and guess
what? His cost from Calgary on the same flight is just under $1,000.
Does that make sense?
I couldn't refuse that fare. It was about 30% of the Premium Coach I was
looking at.
