Both China and India have almost one half (over 2 billion people) of
the world's population. International trade with these two countries
did not open up until relatively recently in the last 25 years. Their
gross domestic product GDP shows steady growth and are in the top 12
highest in the world.

China is hosting the summer olympics and India is self sufficient in
food, manufactures its own supercomputers and has a space program. But
there is always room for improving the distribution of wealth which is
a global problem even in idustrialized countries.
