So, was anybody involved in any events this week?
There was a regular meeting of the Cardiff Storytelling Circle on Sunday
(Candlemas Eve), but no special publicity. However there will be an
evening of stories at Chapter Arts Centre, Cardiff on Friday 13th
February, and since this is St Valentine's Eve the theme is rather
predictable.
And on Wednesday I went to the Bristol Storytelling Circle where there
had been some publicity, but there is a fine line to draw between
getting new people along and not getting too many for the room to hold
in comfort. It was good to have a harpist too, who as well as playing
and telling by herself was willing to play suitable "floating on the
wind" or "moonlight on the water" music when asked - it just slows the
pace down and lets people savour a particular scene, before the action
continues.
