Monoview Productions present
The Caretaker by Harold Pinter
Directed by Emma Kilbey
"You're sure you don't mind me staying here? I mean,
I'm not the sort of man to take any liberties..."
Fledgling company Monoview Productions make their hard-hitting debut with
a fresh look at Pinter's broody classic, The Caretaker.
A wheedling, devious down-and-out realises he's onto a winner when
he's invited to stay with two mysterious brothers, the spivvy and wily
Mick and seemingly slow-witted Aston. His attempts to establish himself in
the household upset the delicate balance of the brothers' lives and sets
up a bleakly comic and volatile dynamic as they jostle for pole-position.
Pinter's signature style, with its flashes of absurdity and supreme
naturalism keep us hooked as the three battle to keep reality at bay...
Directed by Emma Kilbey (Sweetspot Theatre, EastEnders),
this first outing for Monoview Productions sees the professional debut for
talented A.C.T students Matt Weyland, Marcus Taylor and Jos Lawton.
