On the first Tuesday of every month People Wot Write, a friendly group
of amateur
writers, poets, scribblers and scribes meets, drinks, eats and reads at
the Six Bells in Thame. Bring us wot you've written, read us wot
you've wrote or just sit and listen.
Ok, we've finally found a venue and sent out the press releases.
Whatever happens now, we know where we'll be on the 4th July.
Having scouted around the inns and alleys of Thame we finally spoke to
the manager at the Six Bells (bottom of the High Street - the last pub
before the church) and have nabbed a quiet room at the back of the pub
every first Tuesday from 7pm.
The idea is simple. If you like to write then eventually you need some
feedback and encouragement from kindred spirits. We meet to do just
that, bring what we've written - a bit of a book, a poem or story and
read it out. There's no pressure and everybody gets a turn if they want
one.
There are no fees, forms or fuss. Just turn up as often as you want or
wish.
Finally - if you don't know the Six Bells, they do food from 6pm to
9pm, they have a car park at the back and we'll be in one of the rooms
beyond the main bar (and yes, we'll do a sign!).
