And I can make a guess at a few more:

chiggy-pig, chuggy pig:  I bet that's a hedgehog
flittermouse: a bat (the winged mammal type; cf Das Fledermaus)
whortleberry: blaeberry, bilberry, whinberry and probably another 
hundred names in different regions!
