Well, the first thing you need to have for an '80s flat is a "NO INTERNET
CONNECTION" The good thing about this is, "no internet" is free... What
isn't free is the phone lines... You'll need to get them refitted and hard
wired into the walls, no plugs and sockets for you, mebucko.
You may want to have the flat as a POSH 80's flat, in which
case you're allowed an audio coupler modem capable of 1200/300 baud and a
terminal program capable of connecting to Prestel.

Now now, Lard is not a necessity.
You COULD have liquid in the chippan... but if you do, ensure you also
have
a bottle of "Spry crisp'n'dry" in prominent display... With the proper
1980s
logo/designs of course.
